Hello, I was trying to find right topic, I did find one but it did not make sense to me so I am asking here. I have sat nav Rac 1100 (gogo902) which is running Windows CE 5.0 I want to upgrade that as the system I have one is terrible and maps are only for UK to upgrade maps it cost 10 euro for town which is ridiculous!! Could someone give me a hand and direct me what steps do I have to make to put iGO on my system? Or maybe iGo Primo which I have already dowloaded or Tom Tom what would be the best?
Igo Primo Windows Ce
Now to my sat nav. As I said it has Windows CE 5.0 and the UK map and the system is on the memory in the sat nav I have bought memory card for the new system and maps.
4292 The picture shows what is on my sat van and I can provide more pictures for the quick and efficient response. Thank you very much and I do apologize if I have topic in the wrong section but if it comes to sat navs I am green and didin't know where to put it. That device is fairly easy to 'upgrade' to different navigation software (what is it running now.Route66?). First, get the program you want from here: For Primo, I would recommend Primo2 from 'me', or for iGo 8.3x from Fatboyfun or Chas521. Whether iGo 8 or Primo may depend on how much operating memory (RAM) the device has.
If it is 128MB you can run just about whatever you like. If it is 64MB, iGo8.3x might be a better choice (Primo will run on 64MB, but more is needed for all optional functions to run well). Then get whatever maps you need from here: Put the Program with Maps on your SD Card. On your computer, create a new text document with Notepad, and put only a line such as this in it: SDMMC color='#FF0000'iGO8/color color='#008000'iGO8.exe/color color='#FF0000'This/color should be the name of the program folder (could be iGo8, Primo2, etc). color='#008000'This/color should be the name of the main.EXE file in that folder (could be iGo.exe, Primo2.exe, etc) Save your text document as shell.ini. Be sure you are viewing extensions in your File Explorer and take care that it does not get named with a double extension such as shell.txt.ini or shell.ini.txt.
Copy your new shell.ini to the root of ResidentFlash on your device. Insert your SD Card, reboot the device, and it should load your new program from the SD Card. Follow along with initial setup of the program. Any more questions, ask here. Hello, Yes it is working on route 66 But I have a problem: I have downloaded the Primo 2 from this post - I copied the content to the sd card with all the maps I wanted then I created shell.ini notepad file and paste it in the ResidentFlash folder on the device, I rebooted it but nothing happened.
It looks like sat nav is still using flash memory to run. Have you got any ideas why is this not working for me?
Don’t worry now you can easily patch these files with. Futuristic 3d hologram windows 7 theme download. Just download this application and then follow some simple steps to install it.

I also read somewhere (can't remember where.it's been a while) that Route66 can be a bit persistent in some cases and must be exited before anything else can run. Or it gets kinda 'stuck'. If so, start the system up and within Route66, exit the software. If you see no way to exit, you may have to look for a file called device.ini, move it to your PC, open with notepad, look for the line NoExitOnMapScreen=1, and change the 1 to a 0 (zero).
Save the file, then copy it back to the device in the same location, restart the device, and should now see an Exit button in Route66. If all else fails (including what Fatboyfun suggested), there is another way.totally replace or delete the Route66 program on the internal storage (ResidentFlash).but try other things first. Hello, First of all I would like to apologize for a late reply. Let's back to the hard and boring bit Below is the picture of what I have copied to the SD card: 4300 and my Shell.inni had inside this: SDMMC Primo2 Primo2.exe Now is the question, should I copy content of Primo2 folder to SD card or should I copy the folder Primo2 to SD card? I hope that you know what I mean. Yurbuh Tuggly - Tried what you said aboud changing the NoExitOnMapScreen=1to a 0 but it didn't work.
Still have same OS and starts exactly the same Thing which Fatboyfun suggested is hard to understand for me as I don't have R66Navigate.exe on my Device. Question, Should I look for that.exe everywhere in the Device including the Windows folder or just in ResidentailFlash?
The only.exe files which I have in my ResidentialFlash are (name on bold and rest is their location): - Computer WindowsCE ResidentFlash Data.TravelPlayer LOADER - Computer WindowsCE ResidentFlash MobileNavigator MobileNavigator - Computer WindowsCE ResidentFlash poweroff These are the only.exe files I have. Thank you for your help and your time. Regards, KRis offline Joined: Wed May 30, 2012 9:52 pm Posts: 5 Has thanked: 0 time Been thanked: 0 time. Copy the folder Primo2 to SD card - Thats waht I did. I didin't get any 'Exit' button. OS just load as normal. But there was an interesting change of direction.
Hello, EUREKA!!! OK This is what I did: - I have changed name of my Primo2 folder on my SD card to MobileNavigator and gave same name to the Primo2.exe so it became MobileNavigator.exe - I changed content of Shell.inni to SDMMC MobileNavigator MobileNavigator.exe I tried same method with Primo and Primo2. As I said the screen was turning off but sat nav was still working then I realised, when I plugged the sat nav to PC when screen showed with Primo but it couldn't find any satellites.
It looks like Primo needed to be plugged to a power source all the time if not the screen would switch off. So I tried with Primo2 then Primo and again with Primo2 and now everything is working fine. It is a strange as before it wouldn't work now it got signal in the house on Primo2 in 10min and it doesn't have to be plugged to any power source. Works like charm:):) I must say very big thank you for you guys as you helped me and were guiding me through all this hard and confusing process:) Now as I would love to get more knowledge about different sat navs, programs, systems to imnprove my knowledge and help others where should I start? Windows CE is not available as a retail product. You can buy licenses for Platform Builder, which will let you build and install custom versions. I don't think you have any other legal choices. Thanks for ur reply.
Hello, I bought one of those Chinese DVD/GPS units for my Hyundai Tucson GLS (USA). My IGO GPS started going flaky after one year and will not load. I just copied the contents from my 4GB MicroSD card to a folder on my PC. Below is some information I got out of one of the files. Resolution in sys.txt set to 800x480, port 2, baud 9600. I am getting ready to format the card and copy all files back on it.
I was also thinking about buying a new Micro SD card. Do you have a link for USA IGO software I can download and install on the SD Card? Is there a newer update I can use with my existing license? Behringer xenyx x1222usb driver download.
I just want to get this fixed. Hard resetting it does nothing. I can also provide a crash log, but it is greek to me.

I did see something in it about iGO8.map not found. Any help and advice would be appreciated. The crash report mentioned maps not found but I see a lot of them in the following path.: IGO content map. THe crash reports states: (function names unknown - map file SDMMC IGO iGO8.map not found), so is there supposed to be a map file (IGO8.map) in that path. Not sure what happened to it. IF it is not there, how do I replace it?
I will try putting the SD card back in the unit in my car shortly and update you. Thanks again for your help and suggestions. Richard Is there a way I can update my maps to a newer version also? I saw some posts mentioning IGO Primo with some links. I only need maps for the US.
Don't know if my current licensing file will work with them or not. I defer to your expertise. GOing to car now to try GPS again. Did not fix it. When I launch the GPS, it opens and closes and then sometimes it comes up with the message about resetting it.
I answer yes and then it is like it freezes until I hit another button to back out of it and go into the settings. I checked and I am running WinCE6.0-MTK. I decided to download IGO Maps for Primo that I found in this forum.
I know they probably won't work with IGO 8.3.4, so how go I get IGO Primo? Do you install it or just copy it on a SD Drive?
I am just trying to fix my GPS, as mentioned earlier the IGO8.map is missing from the IGO folder. Not sure if this is causing the GPS to open/close and freeze at times. I don't get a map screen anymore and I have deleted the saved folder. So if there are any links that can help me with the missing file or starting over or new with IGO Primo, they would be appreciated. I will check back later tonight to see if anyone else post information to help me.
Thanks again. First, the maps for IGO 8.3.4 are exactly the same as for Primo. Second: the message 'map not found' does NOT point to the (road) maps but to a particular file called 'map' (I don't know the extension, if there is one). That file can only be found when errors occur in OFFICIAL NON CRACKED software, meaning yours is a cracked non official supported IGO, like on most Chinese devices. Third: Any IGO or Primo you will find on the Internet is (mostly after an UNRAR operation) fit to function. Copy it to the internal memory or to an SD card.
And fill with content (maps etc). One of the biggest issues is getting the program to start. A good way to start the program is copying it to the same spot as the 'original', so when that is on sd. Yes, copy it to a blank SD.
Name the folder and program.exe exactly as the 'original' and it should work. Fourth: Get a program from Chas521 like this Primo e in post 157 or 158 in the thread You are not allowed to view links. Be quick to beat the link killers.
MyBoot allows you to start third-party applications on Windows CE and Windows Mobile based portable devices such as GPS systems, PDAs and smartphones which are not designed to do so (e.g. You don't have access to the 'Start' menu).

These devices are not actually ‘locked’, as some people say – it is perfectly legal to install your own software on a device you own. You can use MyBoot to start programs like MAPLORER, or your own programs. How it works Most GPS systems have a button to start the built-in navigation software, such as IGO, Destinator, etc. All this button does is start a program, such as MobileNavigator.exe for IGO. To be able to start other applications, all you have to do is to locate this application and replace it by your own. MyBoot allows you to do just that, keeping a copy of the original application. Then, pushing the button will start MyBoot instead of the built-in software, and it lets you choose what to do next – including starting the original software.
Installation. Locate the application which is started when pushing the button you want to use on your GPS. It may be located on the external memory card that came with the GPS – the easiest and safest option. Rename the original application, e.g. From MobileNavigator.exe to MobileNavigatorIgo.exe The button should no longer work. Don’t panic, this is normal. Unzip the to an empty folder on your PC.
Rename MyBoot.exe so that it has exactly the same name as the original application (e.g. MobileNavigator.exe – without the Igo), and copy it to the place where the original application used to be. E.g., to MobileNavigator MobileNavigator.exe in the case of IGO.
Edit the file MyBoot.ini file on your PC (you can start from the example provided). Each line corresponds to a button you can create. First, create a button allowing to start the original software, e.g. Add a line like Button1 = '. MobileNavigatorIgo.exe'; IGO (the “.” At the beginning makes MyBoot look for the.exe in the directory where MyBoot is stored; IGO is the title of the button). Then, add buttons to start your additional applications.
If you have one called “Maplorer.exe” in the directory Maplorer, in the external storage card SDMMC, add a line like Button2 = ' SDMMC MAPLORER maplorer.exe'; Maplorer (the SDMMC indicates the external card, MAPLORER the directory containing the application, maplorer.exe the application). Optionally, you can add a line to start Windows explorer: Button4 = 'explorer'; Explorer (lines starting neither with nor with. Allow to start system commands). Copy the modified MyBoot.ini file to the same directory where you copied MyBoot.exe (which is now renamed to something like MobileNavigator.exe) Autostart It is now possible to automatically start the first application in the list after a given period of time. Simply add a semicolon (';'), the word 'autostart' and the delay in seconds at the end of the first line of the.ini file (like in the example given in the.ZIP archive). What if something goes wrong?

Note that all along the process, you never delete any files. Basically, you only rename the existing navigation application, and add a new file, which has the original name of that application. If something goes wrong, just delete the added file, and rename the application back to its old name.
(Look at the time stamps if you get confused!) To be really sure you’re not taking any chances by making some mistake, backup your memory card before starting. What if still something goes wrong? Well, it is of course always possible to make some stupid mistake and delete the wrong file In this case, please don’t blame me. “Life is trouble, only death is not” (Zorba the Greek) FAQ Q: Why is there a picture of a cat on the start screen?
